Happy Monday!

Hello!
The weekend was great fun! I got to ride a horse for the first time ever! My horse's name was Gabriel. He was sort of silly and definitely had a personality of his own! I guess he doesn't really get along with the other horses as well as he should. My little brother of 19 was riding in front of me, and at one point Gabriel went right up to the other horse's behind. The next thing I know he chomped him right in the butt!!! Well, after that I made sure we kept our distance from the other horse! Poor guy!

The ranch had all sorts of cuteness for me to enjoy such as kittens, llamas, peacocks, baby guinea pigs, cows and a goat. The goat really freaked me out! I didn't realize that a goat's pupil was the shape of a rectangle! It looked so fake and reminded me of something out of a horror film. For some reason I can't get it out of my head. I'm sure these mysterious eyes will end up in a painting sooner or later.

Today I realized I was REALLY sick of random paintings just sitting around. I decided to hang them in my studio. I feel sort of strange hanging them since some are for sale, and some are not. Either way it looks a lot better than stacked against the wall in a pile. Hanging my "NFS" paintings in this group also enabled me to have some space for other things I've been meaning to hang.

And here ya go, the completed painting from the other day. It's new owner is very happy with it, and I'm happy she's happy! :D

Skooter Thelonious Crunch Furman

It has been one year exactly since our beloved Skooter passed away. He was the greatest dog of all time. No dog will ever take his place. He was a great friend and loved our family unconditionally. Now that I'm working at home alone most of the day, I miss him SO much!

I'm going away for the weekend! The youth group that I volunteer for is going to Jewett, OH to a place called Faith Ranch. They have over 150 horses!! I'm so excited to ride a horse I can barely stand it! I haven't rode a horse since i was wee little, and that didn't even count since I didn't steer the thing myself! So anyway, pray my back can handle it. Until next week, here's a preview of my newest painting. I actually have finished since taking this picture, but I'm not going to post until it's in the hands of it's new owner. It's a portrait of my friend's two little boys and their dog. They are the cutest!

allo!

I've been busy lately, but sometimes I still don't know what to post about! I always have this struggle of what or what not to put in this blog. It's silly.

So anyway, I'm working on a couple paintings that are commission work, so I'm always thankful for that. I should be done with one of them sometime this week, which I'll be sure to post.

Over the weekend my hubbie and I went on a nice little autumn walk. I told him it's my favorite time of year for walks. Usually I'm satisfied because I'd be taking the dog out every day, but since I don't have a one at the moment I'm not as likely to walk around town by myself. I'm just shy like that. So we went down this path on the edge of town that we've been meaning to explore. It was really nice and leafy. Along the path was a place where there used to be a glass factory. All of the ground is full of colored chunks of glass. I can't help but act like a little kid when there are shiny objects shimmering from the ground! I collected so many both hands were full. Don't ask me what I'm actually gonna do with them though!

Christa and I are making shirts for our band, Hand Drawn Mountains. We plan on getting real silk screened shirts made but in the meantime we thought it would be fun to make our own. We bought nice blank shirts from the thrift store of any style or color, and cut a stencil from a logo Christa made. After stenciling the logo on with fabric paint we then fill in the mountains with whatever color we think looks best! It's so fun! I hope everyone can come to the show on the 31st and pick one up!

That's about it for now! My internet is so slow today I don't know if could stand to be at this computer for one more minute anyway!!
