It's the small stuff.

I love it when you randomly find something that isn't usually any fun, but today it just is! The other night I walked into the kitchen to find a glass sitting in front of the iPod dock.  It looked so pretty!
Hahah! I can't help but appreciate the random beauty in things; it makes life a little more special. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy.

Tattoos. . . of my art!

I know it seems a little funny...but I was the first person (that I know of) to get my art tattoo'd on them. Since then, I've had one other person approach me about it. I think it's awesome...I feel like that is one of the biggest compliments an artist could get!

"Rooted in Love" on Tia
(Isn't she the cutest ever?)
And then mine. . . "Two Become One"
*Just for the record, I don't mind at all if anyone wants to get a tattoo featuring my art. All I would ask is you let me know, send pictures, and credit me if someone asks about it. It's such honor to know that you've inspired someone with such magnitude...how could I ever be against such a thing?
Hope everyone is having a wonderful hiatus week!
(That's what I call the week between Christmas and New Years)

3 current obsessions

Our new toy. His name is Noodles McIntyre. He's an iMac.
I've been wanting to re-enter the Mac world for maybe...15 years? Yea. It's about time.

Florence & The Machine - Between Two Lungs
Got this CD for Christmas. Amazingly creative.

If you're looking to be a better blogger, this course is amazing. I'm currently in the process of going through the course and well, brainstorming my brains out. I hope to unveil my new bloggie-blog first thing 2011! Thanks Elsie!

It's Christmas Eve!

It's Christmas Eve!, originally uploaded by marcia.furman.
PJ POST!
<3 you all. Happy Christmas everyone.

Happy Christmas!

I think I love Christmas Eve even more than Christmas Day itself! It's the anticipation...LOVE it! I especially love the Christmas Eve candle light service at church. Something warm and fuzzy about it, that Christmas wouldn't be the same without!
Anyway, here's my annual "Christmas Tree" post.  :]
And new this year... "Adventure Time" shrinky dink ornament that I made for Dustin.

Happy Christmas everyone!

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

Whats in my bag?

Well...this would be my very first "Whats in my bag?" post. Feels kind of weird.  I know that years from now I'll look back through my blog, and think it's kind of neat to see what I was carrying. I was looking back through  just the last year today, and was amazed how much things have changed!

Here we go...

#1 - Keys... VW keys, house...and the church keys? Don't know why I have those right now. Also, my mini-moo card holder! Love that thing!
#2 - Yea, so I carry my own pouches. Haha! This was the very first pouch I made, so it doesn't have a liner. I didn't want to waste it, so I use it to hold all the other "extra" keys in my bag like, Travis' and Dustin's car keys. I hate it when random things float around in my purse!
#3 - Fingerless glove/mittens. A must have if  you have a touch screen phone.
#4 - Another pouch! This one came with a purse I bought way back. It has all my "medicine cabinet" stuff inside.
#5 - Wallet
#6 - Two sketch journals. Not sure why I have two...I just do! The one I made out of an old calendar and the other is just your typical journal from Borders.
#7 - Gum. Gotta have it.
#8 - Hello Kitty wallet I use for holding extra business cards, and business cards for some of  my friend's shops.
#9 - Carmex hand lotion. It's divine! Ah. Why does Carmex make the best stuff?
#10 - Miniral powder compact
#11 - Germ-x - yea... I'm a big gernaphobe. I use it almost every time I leave a store. Probably not a good thing.
#12 - Assorted lip balm and glosses. I'm a big lip balm addict. I can't even go an hour without putting something on my lips! If I don't, it feels terrible!
#13 - My Droid X - a.k.a. "Xanadu"
#14 - Another one of my pouches. I needed a change purse ok?
#15 - Cuticle cutters. If I don't carry these I'll end up chewing my cuticles into oblivion!
#16 - Another wallet for misc. credit cards or gift cards.

Doing this post really helped me realize how OCD I can be! Hahaha! Got to have a compartment for everything...and I have to have all my comfort items. I think I usually have more stuff than this, but it varies depending on what bag I'm carrying and how my back has been feeling lately.

Tomorrow is  Festivus!

Fisheye Fun!

I just got another roll of film developed, taken with my Lomo Fisheye 2. I couldn't even remember what was on the roll! Here are a few of my favorites.
(You can see my entire set of Fisheye Photos here.)

Childlike Inspiration

I'm so often inspired over and over again by things from my childhood. Today it is my stamp collection. I just loved finding "cool" stamps that had interesting designs, or were shaped weird. I wanted anything but American stamps. American stamps were SO boring to me. Even though I don't actively collect stamps anymore, I still have my old collection. Aren't they pretty?

I just love when you get a package that was mailed with actual stamps!!
After getting my own postal scale a couple weeks ago, I decided to stock up on stamps, so I could mail things the old school way. It's so much fun!

Jan's Owl Collection

I've started a temporary job at the church office on Tuesdays, watching the phones and greeting people that come by. When I'm bored, I'm allowed to do whatever I want! Good deal huh? So, I did a little sketching of Jan's owl collection. She's the lady that normally sits at this desk..and obviously adores owls. Too cute.

Inspiration Overload

Today I stumbled across this picture on flickr, and discovered the majestic Snowgum Tree!
It's absolutely glorious.
I can't get over how amazing they are, all twisted and such.
These trees cause absolute inspiration overload!

The bark peels off randomly, which looks fabulous.

...cause that's how I roll.

I found myself "LOL-ing" today after making cookies with my son.
I follow tons of amazing blogs, which often post beautiful pictures of their amazing recipe triumphs. Their baking is gorgeous and colorful. Mine on the other hand. . . well, take a look.

Store bought ginger bread dough, and amazing Christmas decorating cookie kit. At first we cut fun animal cookies...then moved to simple circles. By the end, we got impatient, and took the last bits, rolled them in a ball, and smashed them on the cooking stone.
(I bet you're impressed I even /have/ one of those...heheheh.)

The  most impressive treat was Dustin's "rhymenocerous" cookie.

All the while, Elora waited for a crumb.

And now, the true entertainment to this post:

Shenanigans. . .

A few random things today:

Finally got my Drawgasmic book!
(Drawgasmic was an art exhibition I was involved with over the summer,
located in St. Louis, Missouri.)
Wish I could of been there in person, but alas I wasn't able to.
So now, I get to see everything that went on in this amazing little book!
See all that yellow on the pages above? That would be me!
(In case you're wondering, "Firmly Rooted" is still available here.)

Next...
I'm going to be involved in two "craft shows" this weekend.

This one I'm super excited about!
I will be there on December 3rd only. . . but if you are going to be near by, check it out on BOTH days! Each day will have a totally new set of vendors!

The second show I do not have a flyer for, but the info is as follows:
Christmas Bazaar - Grove City, PA
Saturday, December 4 · 9:00am - 2:00pm
Knights of Columbus Hall
1310 S. Center St. Ext.
Grove City, PA

One more note of interest.
FREE shipping for all original art, prints and 2011 calendars in my Etsy Shop until Christmas!

Sorry for all shopping ads etc. . . but 'tis the season eh?
What's better than giving handmade? So original and heartfelt. Seriously. . . give it a try!
