Weekend Shenanigans

Busiest weekend ever.
Saturday, we (The Band) had a very productive day being crafty. Aka-- Crafty Branches Day or Bare Crafts Day. We got started silk screening & sewing. It won't be long until the CDs are ready!

Sunday we had a little birthday celebrating to do. My lil Brother turned 21 last week, My lil sister turned 31 yesterday, and then my brother-in-law turned 34 today! Wowza. So we had a couple parties to go to. A tough weekend for resisting the glorious foods all around. . . but over all I did well. Whew.

Every time I look at my Shortcakes and Ponies, I get so sad that I sold them off on Ebay. I had a huge collection. They were so special to me! Sigh. College years. *rolls eyes*

I still have to pull out my Jem Doll collection and also show you some of my massive Smurf collection.

I need a bigger house!

Lately I've been obsessed with my old childhood toys. Erm...who am I kidding? I've /always/ been obsessed with my childhood toys. Some of them I still have, and some of them I don't. I lost all my My Little Pony's and Strawberry Shortcake dolls to Ebay when it first came out. What was I thinking???

(WHY do we all have to have a mullet phase? Why, oh why.)

Whatever. Regardless of what /I/ looked like back then...those toys will always be precious sight to me! I still have ALL my Jem dolls. Ah! What a treasure. I've also managed to collect quite a few of my other random 80's toys back. Perhaps as post of these tomorrow?

Wowza...busy bee!

Wow. Today was a whirlwind of a day. Busy, busy, busy. I was so busy I didn't even have a chance to check my blog feed! Hahaha. I /always/ do that, so when I don't, you know I've got a lot going on. There's a ton of craziness and preparation happening with the band. It's all very exciting...new music and shenanigans soon!

This week has been the most challenging yet. Not in what I actually ended up drawing, but finding time in general. I got through it, but this has proven to be as hard as sticking to a diet. Something I need to take one day at a time!

In the mood for summer...

Yes, I said it. Don't ask me to say it again! Hahah! I am a winter person all the way...but it has been cold for a long, long time! I need to open my doors and windows. I need to sit outside on warm nights. I need to collect more random pictures of sidewalk art! :D

"Little kid" art is something that brings me immense joy! I've been known to swipe up little pictures by children that I find here and there. Even more wonderful is sidewalk art conjured up on a warm summer day. There's nothing more innocent and pure.

This time last year...

David Bazan & Jimmy Eat World @ Club Zoo - Pittsburgh

Yesterday, hubbie and I went to Club Zoo in Pittsburgh to see David Bazan and Jimmy Eat World! It's funny. There will be long periods of time when I don't make it down to Pittsburgh at all, but for some reason I'll always end up going like two or three times in one week! Friday I had a craft show in Pittsburgh, Sunday was Eisley, and yesterday was Jimmy Eat Wold. Craziness. So as usual, here are some pics and videos from the show!

It really was an amazing show. Both bands were absolutely flawless. The sound was great and I could actually see (that's a big problem when you're 5'0" tall.) Not to mention there were only two bands, that both played a decent amount of music. Perfect. Club Zoo is not my favorite club, but overall it was the most pleasant experience I have ever had there!

Eisley @ The Altar Bar in Pittsburgh!

Yesterday I got to see Eisley at the Altar Bar in Pittsburgh! This was my third time seeing them. Such a magical band. . .  Opening the night were the Chapin Sisters, and closing the night was Rooney. I wasn't familiar with either of the other bands, but they were delightful nonetheless. I especially loved the Chapin Sisters, their voices were beautiful.

Owl Thrift Score!

I thought I'd share a few of the owls I've picked up throughout the last year or so. I don't exactly collect owls, but when I see them, I can't resist!

Owl cookie jar!! I love this guy. Found him at the local flea market.

I think I'm going to buy an "air plant" for this little buddy. He's thrifted.

Resin napkin holder. I've had this guy for a long, long time. He's even appeared in a few of my paintings!
