This painting was inspired by a song called "Rice Paper." It was written by a band called Celestial Static that I discovered at Cornerstone Festival years ago. The song begins with the lines:

My heart is rice paper
dissolving and clouded
When it's gone
I'll get a new one
from the big rice paper tree
