As encouraged by A Beautiful Mess blog, I've made up a simple list of goals to be done before 2014. It's such a great idea! I'm going to be spending all of December back in Butler with Dustin, so I picked accordingly.
1. This is a drawing portrait group! I need to practice people AND practice drawing in public. The Art Center in Butler has a group that meets weekly!
2. Well, I'll be back in my home town and I miss everyone badly! Being an introvert, sometimes I don't make hanging out a priority (even though I WANT to). I'm going to make an extra effort to get together with old friends.
3. Since I'll be in Butler, I can't take my entire art studio with me. Watercolors are so portable, I thought this would be a great opportunity to really dive in.
4. Today I attended my first Yoga class ever. It was really great! With my back problems, I think it's really important that I start some sort of stretching routine like this.
I'll keep ya posted on how it goes!
Do you have any goals for the season?

My husband's tattoo!
Check out the tattoo my husband got!
It's the painting that I gave him for Christmas. At first I did not suspect he wanted to get this as a tattoo at all. Then one day he came home and said he had booked an appointment. I thought he meant as a surprise for me, since he doesn't have ANY tattoos and didn't want any as far as I knew. Boy was I surprised when I found it was for him!! Love! What a wonderful compliment. I like him a lot.

Fireflies
Doesn't this just pull on your heart strings?
Who hasn't spent countless evenings catching those fantastic glowing bugs. I know I have.
What a delightful time I had painting this. Thanks Jill and Mike!

Current Obsession: Watercolor Sketching
I can't get enough! I'm trying only to do this in my "free" time but it's hard when the fall days are so beautiful! I can't wait until the trees start to turn around here. It's definitely not as pretty as Pennsylvania though.
It's easy to go to the park and sketch because I can usually find a quiet place to myself. Being an introvert this is ideal. But I REALLY want to sketch down town and get some of the monuments or whatever. It's SO scary to me. I don't like people looking at my sketches while in progress. I don't know why! I think I am slowly gaining confidence in this area. I guess I need to just force myself to get out there and do it, and it will slowly become easier.
P.S. I post most of my sketches on my "Marcia Sketches" blog if you'd like to follow me there.

Free art print download!
Hi everyone.
Recently I've been struggling with a few things. Nothing catastrophic or anything, but you know how it is. Sometimes life doesn't go the way you want it. It's fine. I'm thankful with where I am. God puts us where we are for a reason. I'm going to sit back and trust in that. I know God has a plan for me.
We all need reminded of this daily...to be thankful during the good AND the bad.
Enjoy this free download of my latest sketchbook watercolor, and be thankful in all circumstances.
